Who are Team C²?

Chris Andrews and Clint Evans have rowed together for the last two years in a highly successful four, which won in coxed and coxless fours at the FISA World Masters Regatta 2003, coxed fours at the 2004 Regatta (where Chris and Clint also won as a pair), as well as winning at the National Veterans Regatta and Veterans' Henley in both 2003 and 2004. In 2003, the four were losing finalists in the Prince Philip Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta - won by a four including Athens Olympic Gold medallists Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknell.

Chris Andrews (44) lives in Tunbridge Wells - not famed for its rivers, but
close to Bewl Bridge Rowing Club, where Chris has rowed since 1998. Before
then, Chris was a member of Kingston Rowing Club, and while he was there, Chris
competed for Great Britain twice at the World Championships in 1989 and 1990, in
the quad sculls. It was while Chris and Clint were both at Kingston in 1989 that they first met, although as they both rowed at school on the same part of the Thames, it is likely that they competed against each other - probably from about 1974 onwards Chris is a lawyer by training, and now works for a major international law firm as its global Director of Risk Management (in which case one might wonder why on earth he is doing something like this). Hopefully the row will give him some new insights into his job, which he will be able to pass on to others. When he is not rowing and working, Chris has three children to occupy any spare time (and more) - Sophie (19), Thomas (13) and Harriet (11) - who could ask for more? Clint Evans (44) is from Molesey in Surrey and is a member of Tyrian - the
ex-University of London rowers' club.
Clint took up rowing at school, aged 11, and competed for Great Britain at U23 level. By day Clint is a marketing director and change manager. Once the challenge is over, Clint is looking to spend more time coaching others to take up the sport - particularly adult learners and their families. Clint's other hobbies include teaching his young daughters that there is more
to life than new shoes and learning from his eccentric son - Merlin. Contact details: Mob - 07951 764530 |
But, as you might expect, behind the scenes there is much more that is enabling Team C
² to enter the race and Chris and Clint to compete. There is a support infrastructure that is helping them and acting as the land support team when the race gets underway:
Harriet, Thomas and Sophie |
Elle, Merlin and Scarlett |
